His Story
Dawson's career in ceramics started during the latter years of high school. Upon graduating, Dawson studied privately with professors from the Phoenix Center for the Arts as well as private one-on-one instruction. In 2016, Dawson formed Dawson's Designs and with his new business up and running, began to exhibit his work at various art shows throughout the valley. He started making mugs, bowls, plates and vases and upon a visit to Sedona, Arizona, he was drawn to a large copper/metal fountain designed to be permanently displayed in a front yard or patio. It's there and then that he got the idea to make a smaller, tabletop-sized fountain that could be used both indoor and outdoor but didn't take up much space. All of Dawson's creations are made using the slab-rolled technique with B-Mix Cone 6 clay
